Emma and Connor's engagement session began under clear skies at the picturesque barns of Mattaponi Springs, known for its rustic charm and stunning views.
Their chemistry was evident through laughter and playful interactions, captured beautifully on camera. Their willingness to embrace the moments with minimal instruction made their session that much more specail. Every smile and laugh was genuine and really showcases how much these two love one another.

As the sun went down, dark clouds rolled in, turning the evening into a surprise romantic thunderstorm. Instead of wrapping things up early, Emma and Connor joyfully embraced the rain, dancing under the stormy sky while I guided them through a few quick poses before the storm really hit us. The approaching storm clouds added a dramatic flair, making their session truly unforgettable. Their laughter filled the fields, perfectly capturing their adventurous vibe. Even though the session was cut short, the thunderstorm brought a touch of magic, creating memories they'll always treasure.
Unique Moments from Their Engagement Session
As our session began, I prompted them to hold hands, and I noticed they were holding hands in an unusual way. While making adjustments to their pose, Emma and Connor explained to me why they hold hands the way they do. The positioning of their fingers says "I love you" in sign language, which I thought was so cute and sentimental, so of course, I had to grab a shot of that! We managed to position their hands to where you can see both of their engagement rings. This is by far one of my favorite shots from their session. It truly shows how unique their love is.
To add another personal touch to the session, the white dress Emma is wearing in some photos is the same dress her mother wore as her going-away outfit after her wedding. It fit Emma perfectly as she and Connor twirled in the pouring rain!
Final Thoughts...
Getting to capture the love between these two amazing people was awesome. Right from the start, you could see their deep connection, full of genuine affection and warmth. They're so down-to-earth and kind, and their authenticity made the whole experience even better. Hearing about how they met was super heartwarming. Their journey as a couple is packed with shared experiences and laughter, and I was lucky to catch moments that really show their bond. Every little interaction, from playful looks to supporting each other during our session, showed just how much they love and are committed to each other. I'm honored to continue photographing their journey through marriage, capturing all the beautiful milestones ahead. Each moment will be a testament to their love story. With their wedding day coming up in October, I can hardly wait. Being part of such a big occasion fills me with joy, and I'm eager to create lasting memories they'll cherish for years to come
.
October can't come fast enough!
